Our Story
“Generations of British Craftsmanship for the Modern Workspace.”
The Founding Partnership (1887 - 1920)
In 1887, Alistair Dale and Henry Wheatley founded Dales & Wheatley, uniting craft and commerce to produce furniture renowned for its quality, durability, and timeless design from their Cirencester workshop.
The Next Generation (1920 - 1965)
William Dale, Alistair's son, expanded the business by securing commercial contracts, furnishing the boardrooms of London's financial district and making the Dales & Wheatley name synonymous with reliability at scale.
Upholding Tradition (1965 - 2000)
Facing rising globalisation, Richard Dale doubled down on the company's founding principles, investing in apprenticeships to preserve the rare skills of British joinery while competitors compromised on quality.
The Modern Era (2000 - Present)
Led by Eleanor and Thomas Dale, the company integrates technology to enhance efficiency while preserving the personal touch that has defined the Dales & Wheatley name for over 135 years.
