Our Craft

A Tradition of Material & Method

For over a century, our commitment to quality has been defined by two things: the materials we select, and the methods we employ. This is the foundation of the Dales & Wheatley legacy.

Sustainable Timber

True craftsmanship requires a deep respect for materials. We source the finest sustainable timbers from responsibly managed forests across the UK and Europe. We believe that furniture should be built to last for generations, not years, and this philosophy inherently guides our approach to sustainability.

  • English Oak: Sourced from managed estates, known for its strength and beautiful grain.
  • Ash: A resilient and flexible timber, perfect for chairs and curved components.
  • Walnut: Prized for its rich, dark colour and used in our most prestigious executive pieces.

Master Craftsmanship

Our workshop minimizes waste by repurposing offcuts for smaller items and heating our space with a biomass boiler fueled by sawdust and wood shavings. We prioritize traditional, low-VOC finishes that are healthier for our craftspeople and for your office environment.

From hand-cut dovetail joints to meticulous wood-turning, every piece is a testament to the skills of our dedicated artisans. We do not mass-produce; we create.
